The Cast Iron ingot mold has a slight wall taper for better metal removal. This Mold is great for making Loaf type bars. The weight of each bar depends on what metal your working with and how full you fill the cavity. These Cast Iron Molds are not as smooth inside the cavity like our Graphite molds are, Overall length is apx. 8" and inside size is apx 1-1/4" deep & at the top its apx 1-1/2" X 3-1/2". It will hold about 50 oz of Gold, 25 oz of Silver & Copper.
The Black flux is 1 Lb of the famous Chapman Refining Flux. This is pre-mixed and ready for you to add your Black Sands, Ore, Gold, Silver, Computer Parts, Scrap Gold and smelt. This is also a great assay mix. Includes Borax, Soda Ash, Silica & Manganese.
The small 2 tablespoon white powder is the best Flux Thinning compound I have used so far. I find it always best to pour when your material is like water coming out. It makes for better pours, better looking bars and helps keep any splashing down like you get when your pouring with lumps. Directions of how much to use vary depending on your Results your getting now. Try a little at first as you can always add more if needed. This flux thinner will help you get all the gold out of your black sands or ore if thats what your smelting. If your just melting Gold or Silver with Borax or Flux and need it thinner to pour this is the mix for you. If you just want to add it right into your flux a good place to start is a 3 Part Flux & 1 Part thinner or even 1/2 part thinner.
The other small package has 2 Tablespoons of pure Anhydrous Borax in the Granular form. Anhydrous Borax is used to season your crucible and for many other things including Gold Recovery from Black sands, Gold & Silver Recovery from Bench Grinds. Many different Flux recipes for many different functions.
